Terms of Service

1. The service

Citeworks ("we," "us") provides AI visibility audits and related optimization services to local service businesses ("you," "customer"). An audit measures whether and how often your business is named by AI answer engines (including but not limited to ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Claude) in response to real, relevant search queries, and identifies specific, verifiable reasons for the result.

2. Pricing and payment

1. The standard offer is a $997/month recurring subscription. The first payment is charged when you subscribe, and the subscription renews monthly on that date.
2. You may cancel at any time, for any reason, effective at the end of the current billing period. There is no cancellation fee.
3. Payments already made are non-refundable except as described in Section 3 (Guarantee).
4. We do not offer a discounted or alternate pricing tier except where separately, explicitly agreed in writing.

3. Guarantee

The guarantee covers the work, not a specific AI visibility score. The install always includes a Google Business Profile overhaul, schema deployment, entity consistency (NAP) fixes, 12 AI-optimized FAQ blocks, and a dedicated tracking number. It also includes review engine setup whenever your business's review profile — measured in your audit — shows fewer than 50 total reviews, or a rating below 4.5 stars, or where we could not measure your review profile. The complete list for your order is shown on your offer page at the time of purchase. If those deliverables are not delivered within five business days of the start of work, you may request a full refund of your first month's payment.

Thirty days after the work is complete, we re-run your audit as evidence of the work: run 2–3 times and reported as a range, since AI engines do not return the identical answer to the identical question every time, even when nothing about your business has changed. We show you the before-and-after result. That result is not a separate condition of the refund.

This guarantee applies once per customer and does not extend to payments for subsequent months.

4. Cancellation

If you cancel, you keep everything installed during setup (Google Business Profile changes, structured data, listing corrections, published content). We will send you a maintenance checklist describing how to keep it current on your own. Ongoing monthly work (posts, articles, monitoring, re-scans) stops as of your cancellation date.

5. What we don't promise

We measure and report AI visibility; we do not and cannot guarantee a specific number of leads, calls, or amount of revenue, because we do not control what a customer's own customers search for or how AI engines choose to answer at any future point in time. Any figures shown on an audit (e.g. break-even job counts, gross margin) are arithmetic on your own trade's real economics, not a projection of results you will personally receive.

6. Your account access

Some deliverables require temporary access to your Google Business Profile, website, or other accounts. We use that access only to perform the agreed work and never make changes outside the scope of the current engagement without asking first. We will never replace the primary phone number on your Google Business Profile — any tracking number we provision is added as an additional number only.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Citeworks or its deliverables for any unlawful purpose, and to provide accurate business information. We reserve the right to decline or terminate service to any business operating in a regulated industry we determine is outside the scope of what we audit and optimize for.

8. Limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, Citeworks is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
